Core API Concepts

Before getting started with the API, please be familiar with the following concepts as they will be referenced throughout the API.

  • Authentication - How we know who you are.
  • Idempotence - How we prevent duplicate requests.
  • Customers - Bridge's understanding of your customers using your products.
  • External Accounts - Your accounts that we can send or receive funds from.
  • Developer Fees - Fees that can be set to charge your customers.
  • Receipts - Details about how the outbound funds were delivered along with important disclosures.
  • Transfers - How to initiate money movement.
  • Liquidation Address - A permanent wallet address which will send deposited funds to a pre-configured destination.
  • Virtual Accounts - A permanent bank account number which will send deposited funds to a pre-configured crypto address.
  • SEPA - Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), which is an initiative designed to facilitate efficient and uniform processing of bank transfers in euros across countries in the SEPA zone.
  • SWIFT - Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), which is a global network that facilitates secure and standardized financial transactions between banks and other financial institutions.
